The Patient Account Services Division handles all aspects of patient billing as it pertains to all ambulance transports and standby events. All patient accounts coders are trained as Certified Ambulance Coders. Any and all billing questions, including but not limited to insurance, payment plans, collection notices and requests for billing records are handled by this division.

Emergency Medical Dispatchers are the initial responders of MedStar Ambulance. Every call starts in the dispatch communications center and ends in the communications center. Our Emergency Medical Dispatchers are Certified and Licensed Medical Professionals by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch and The Illinois Department of Public Health. They provide life emergency medical dispatch instructions prior to the arrival of Emergency Medical Service personnel on the ambulance.
